Terms and Conditions of Hire for Bellarine Bin Hire

Please read the terms and conditions carefully to avoid any additional charges.

1. Weight Allowances

Your bin includes an allocated weight allowance. Any excess weight will be charged at $0.30 per kg (e.g. for an extra 100kgs it would be $30)

Weight allowance per bin size:

• 1.5m³ = 250kg

• 2.0m³ = 300kg

• 2.5m³ = 400kg

• 3.0m³ = 500kg

• 4.0m³ = 650kg

• 4.5m³ = 750kg

• 5.5m³ = 900kg

• 6.0m³ = 1 tonne

The maximum bin weight for any bin size is 2tonnes. If your bin is heavier than this, our truck will not be able to lift it, and you may be required to remove some items.

If you have a large quantity of heavy items (Bricks, Concrete, Dirt, Tiles), we always recommend a 1.5m bin.

2. Accepted Waste

Some items are prohibited; please ensure none of the following are disposed of in your skip bin.

We Do Not accept these Items:

• Chemicals and poisons
• Toxic waste
• Asbestos

We Do accept these Items, but must not be placed inside the skip:

• Batteries
• Liquid paints, oils
• Gas cylinders and aerosols

If you have any of these prohibited items and would like a quote for disposal, please call our team.

White goods that are too large to fit in the skip without overfilling are prohibited, but can be quoted for disposal.

• Mattresses incur a fee of $40
• Tyres and tyres on wheels incur a fee of $20

3. Correct Loading

Bins are not to be filled above the top level. Please ensure rubbish is close to flush with the top of the bin.

A bin is considered overfull if it cannot be safely or legally transported—this includes waste above the top rail or items protruding beyond the sides. Please keep all waste level with the top of the bin.

If a bin is overfull, we reserve the right to unload the excess rubbish. If this cannot be done quickly, the bin will be left onsite, and you will be required to re-book the pickup once the bin meets the guidelines, which may incur an additional trip fee.

If your bin is full and you require another, we can deliver a replacement at the time of pickup for your convenience.

4. Delivery and Pick-up Requirements

Please notify us at the time of booking of any access or site constraints that may affect delivery or collection of the bin, including (but not limited to) narrow access points, heavy traffic areas, overhead obstructions such as power lines, or restricted entry conditions. It is the customer’s responsibility to disclose these conditions in advance. Where access limitations are not advised and result in damage to property or the worksite (including above-ground or below-ground infrastructure), we accept no liability for any resulting loss or damage.

For operational and safety requirements, a minimum clearance of 1 metre must be maintained on both sides of all vehicles, along with sufficient overhead clearance to safely operate equipment. The designated placement area must be suitable, stable, and safely accessible for both delivery and collection.

Please note that larger bins are heavy and may cause minor surface disturbance during placement and collection. This may include marks or impressions on surfaces such as concrete, paving, or tiles. If surface protection is required, please advise us at the time of booking. Where appropriate, timber planks may be used to help minimise surface impact.

Bins will be placed in the location nominated by the customer wherever reasonably practicable. If any issues arise during delivery, we will attempt to contact you for instructions. Once a bin has been placed, it must not be moved, as relocation may create safety risks and may prevent safe retrieval.

The customer must ensure clear and unobstructed access is maintained for collection at the time of pickup.

5. Hire Duration and Payment

Standard bin hire duration for residential skip bin hire is 7 days, unless otherwise agreed. Payment is required prior to the collection date unless you have an account with us. Bookings made online accept this hire period as default and must contact Bellarine Bin Hire directly to adjust it.
